To submit a long-term visa / residence permit application, schedule appointment.
To submit a Schengen visa application, contact the visa center in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City – based on your place of residence.
Applicants submit Schengen visa applications in visa centers. Family members of EU citizens, holders of diplomatic or service (official) passports, members of official delegations, and persons travelling in urgent humanitarian situations can apply directly at the Embassy. These categories of applicants can however still choose to submit their applications in visa centers. To apply for a Schengen visa directly at the Embassy, schedule an appointment: Hanoi.Consulate@mzv.gov.cz.
Schengen visa collection: Monday - Friday, 1 - 4 p.m. in visa centers
Long-term visa collection: Tuesday and Thursday, 1 - 3 p.m. – upon collecting the visa, present a proof that you have bought travel medical insurance covering the duration of the visa

TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Hanoi accepts Schengen visa and long-term visa / residence permit applications of citizens of Vietnam and long-term/permanent residents in Vietnam.
Citizens of Vietnam need a visa for short-term (up to 90 days) and long-term (over 90 days) stays in the Czech Republic / Schengen Area.
Applicants who are residents, but not citizens, in Vietnam can apply for a long-term visa / residence permit at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Hanoi only if they have resided in Vietnam for at least the past two years. When registering your appointment, do attach a copy of your residence permit. If you do not fulfil this condition, do file your application in your home country. Countries whose citizens are exempt from this rule are listed here.

The consulate usually replies to specific e-mail inquiries within 7 working days.
The consulate provides phone consultations during office hours only.
The consulate does not provide information on visa application status during the legal review period. The consulate notifies the applicant as soon as the decision is made. You can check the status of your long-term visa / residence permit application here.
Complaint according to Art. 47(1)(j) as specified in Art. 38(5) of the Visa Code can be submitted at hanoi.consulate@mzv.gov.cz.
The consulate does not use social networks to communicate about visas.
FEES
Visa / residence permit fees are paid when applying by card (the amount is deducted in Czech crowns (CZK) or euros (EUR) based on the schedule of fees) or in cash in Vietnamese dongs (VND).
LANGUAGE
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Hanoi communicates in Czech and English when processing visa and residence permit applications. If the applicant understands neither of these languages, he/she must arrange for an interpreter when applying for a long-term visa / residence permit, at his/her costs. Examinations are conducted in Czech only. If the applicant does not speak Czech, he/she must arrange for an interpreter for the purposes of examination, at his/her costs.
