The registry office is a public official list of births, marriages, registered partnerships and deaths, which is kept by registrars in the city where the event occurred. The Special Registry Office in Brno is responsible for registering births, marriages/partnershipsand deaths of Czech citizens that occurred outside the territory of the Czech Republic, and also handles registry office matters for former foreigners who have acquired Czech citizenship.
