New economic migration quotas valid since 1st July 2025
Information regarding current economic migration quotas for applicants interested in applying at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka.
Government Resolution no. 415/2025 from 11th June 2025 has amended the Government Regulation no. 220/2019 Coll., on the maximum number of applications for a long-term visa for the purpose of business, applications for a long-term residence permit for the purpose of investment and applications for an employee card that can be submitted at selected Czech diplomatic missions abroad.
New annual quotas at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka are as follows:
- Max. number of applications for a long-term visa for the purpose of business: 12*
*out of which 4 within "Key and Research Staff Program" and 8 outside of any program - Max. number of applications for an employee card: 80**
**out of which 80 within "Highly Qualified Worker Program" or "Key and Research Staff Program", zero within "Qualified Worker Program" and zero outside of any program
The annual quotas is fixed and cannot be exceeded.
When accepting applications within and outside the programs of targeted economic migration, the quota is evenly distributed throughout a calendar year.
Based on this Resolution, starting 1st July 2025 the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka is no longer accepting applications for employee cards others than those of highly qualified employees indicated directly by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. There are no exceptions to the rule.
Concerning Seasonal Work, kindly note that visa application submission capacity is at the discretion of the Embassy. The current capacity is 1 seasonal work visa application submission per month.
