Long term permit
A long-term residence permit is a residence permit intended for third country nationals who want to reside in the Czech Republic for a specific purpose for more than one year.
● UK citizens and citizens of these countries may apply for long‑term visas and residence permits at any diplomatic mission of the Czech Republic abroad.
● Citizens of other countries residing in the UK can submit an application for a long‑term visa or long‑term residence permit at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London only if they have resided in the UK legally and continuously for at least two years and are currently holders of a UK residence permit with a total validity of at least one year.
● From 2 May 2023, the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Dresden became the only place in the Schengen area where UK (and other eligible) applicants will be able to apply for a short-term or long-term visa and residence permit. Other embassies in the Schengen area no longer accept visa applications. More information here.
