To submit a Schengen visa application, contact the visa centre in London.

Applicants submit Schengen visa applications in a visa centreFamily members of EU citizens, holders of diplomatic or service (official) passports, members of official delegations, and persons travelling in urgent humanitarian situations can apply directly at consulate. These categories of applicants can however still choose to submit their applications in visa centers. To apply for a Schengen visa directly at consulate, schedule an appointment: London.Visa@mzv.gov.cz.

Schengen visa collection: Monday and Wednesday, 2 - 3 p.m. at the consulate; Monday – Friday: 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. at the visa centre 

Long-term visa collection: Monday and Wednesday, 2 - 3 p.m. at the consulate – upon collecting the visa, present a proof that you have bought travel medical insurance covering the duration of the visa

TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in London accepts Schengen visa and long-term visa / residence permit applications of British citizens and long-term/permanent residents of the UK.

British citizens do not need a visa for short-term (up to 90 days) stays in Czechia / Schengen Area, provided they are travelling for non-remunerative (non-working) purposes.

Applicants who are residents, but not citizens, in the UK can apply for a long-term visa / residence permit at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London only if they have resided in these countries for at least the past two years and currently hold a long-term residence permit. When registering your appointment, do attach a copy of your residence permit. If you do not fulfil this condition, do file your application in your home country. Countries whose citizens are exempt from this rule are listed here.

Harmonized list of supporting documents is used when processing Schengen visa applications in the UK – prepare them before applying.

HOW TO CONTACT US

Please pay close attention to the visa information on this website and do not e-mail us with requests for general information that is available on the website.

The consulate usually replies to specific e-mail inquiries within 5 days.

The consulate does not provide information on visa application status during the legal review period. The consulate notifies the applicant as soon as the decision is made. You can check the status of your long-term visa / residence permit application here.

Complaint according to Art. 47(1)(j) as specified in Art. 38(5) of the Visa Code can be sent to the e-mail address London.Consulate@mzv.gov.cz.

The consulate does not use social networks to communicate about visas.

FEES

Visa / residence permit fees are collected upon application submission by card in Czech Crowns (CZK) or Euro (EUR).

LANGUAGE

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in London communicates in Czech and English when processing visa and residence permit applications. If the applicant understands neither of these languages, he/she must arrange for an interpreter when applying for a long-term visa / residence permit, at his/her costs. Examinations are conducted in Czech only. If the applicant does not speak Czech, he/she must arrange for an interpreter for the purposes of examination, at his/her costs.
