Blue Card
Blue Card is required for citizens of the so-called third countries who will be employed in the Czech Republic for more than three months on a position requiring high qualification.
Blue Card is issued for a specific job position. Vacancies available to foreign nationals are displayed in a central vacancies database for Blue Card holders.
To file a Blue Card application, the applicant needs to know the vacancy reference number = the number under which the position is registered in the central vacancies database for Blue Card holders.

I. KINDLY FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
2. Make copies of all documents you are presenting (A4 size). You will present one folder with original documents and one another folder with the copies.
II. LODGE THE APPLICATION PRESENTING THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
1) Passport
2) Application form for Blue Card
You are required to indicate, among others, the vacancy reference number, i.e. the number under which the position is registered in the vacancies database. This database displays vacancies for which foreign nationals can apply. The reference number is displayed in the database along with the job title.
3) Two Photos
Your photograph must confirm to ICAO standards. The photograph should be of standard passport photo size (35x45 mm), must be of a high quality, taken against a plain light background, not older than 6 months, showing you looking directly at the camera with your eyes open. Please attach the photograph to the application form with glue (do not staple it).
4) BIOMETRIC DATA (FINGERPRINTS)
5) PURPOSE OF STAY
- employment contract: employment contract must be concluded for at least one year for a number of weekly working hours legally set (= typically 40 hours per week, other options are given in § 79 of the Labor Code) and for a salary at least 1,5 times the average yearly gross salary (currently 382,620 CZK) – must be clearly stated in the contract
○ ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION
◦ *documents proving HIGH QUALIFICATION (i.e. university degree or higher professional education requiring at least three years of study)
◦ for a REGULATED profession: applicant who will perform a regulated profession submits a document proving that he/she has the required professional qualification (click on the profession ("regulated unit"))
◦ for AGENCY employment: applicant who will employed through an employment agency submits a document containing information about the applicant (name, surname, maiden name (if applicable), citizenship, date and place of birth and residence address), information about the job (type and place of employment, which the applicant will temporarily carry out) and information about the employer (name and residence)
● APPLICANTS WHO STAYED IN ANOTHER EU MEMBER STATE BEFORE LODGING APPLICATION for the Blue Card submit also a document on monthly family income

7) CRIMINAL RECORD EXTRACT
You must present a criminal record extract of the country of citizenship and moreover ,the same document issued by the countries where you lived in the past 3 years for a consecutive period of 6 months or more, or an affidavit in case the country does not issue such a document. Criminal record is requested for all applicants older than 15 years old.
The criminal record extract is issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Interior. The Criminal record extract must be translated to Czech language. We do not accept a document in Arabic, English, or any other language.
Criminal record extract should be superlegalized from the Czech Embassy in Cairo before you apply for visa (How to legalize a document in the Embassy) OR to be superlegalized on the day of lodging your application.

DO NOT OVERLOOK:
-Supporting documents may not be older than 180 days with the exception of a passport, photo (if reflecting current appearance) and documents on high competence.
-Supporting documents must be submitted in Czech. Documents in another language must also be submitted in official translation into Czech.
-Foreign public documents must be legalized, i.e. equipped by an apostille or superlegalized.
-The following documents must always be submitted in their originals: passport and supporting documents on the purpose of stay (in this case employment contract). These originals will be returned to the applicant should he/she wish to keep them. Passport is always returned to the applicant and is submitted again when issuing the visa.
-Other supporting documents may be submitted as originals or officially verified copies.
-We kindly request applicants to prepare a set of copies of all the requirements.
-SUBMIT ONLY COMPLETE APPLICATIONS CONTAINING ALL THE DOCUMENTS.
-INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS CANNOT BE PROCESSED => PROCESSING OF INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUSPENDED UNTIL THE APPLICANT ADDS THE MISSING DOCUMENTS (§ 169i + § 169r.4 of Act on Residence of Foreign Nationals). THIS PROLONGS THE OVERALL PROCESSING!
