Authentication services provided by the Czech Embassy in Oslo

Services provided by our mission

Signature authentication

This is a verification where we confirm the signature of the person who has signed a document.

In case you require authentication of your signature, you have to come in person and prove your identity with valid passport or ID (we do not accept a driving license). You submit a printed document and sign the document in front of the officer.

Certification of  a copy

This is a verification where we confirm a certified copy of an original document.

In order to obtain this verification, you must bring and present the original document of which you want a certified copy.

According to the Czech law, it is not possible to verify in particular: ID, travel document (passport), firearms license, driving licence, military service book, service ID card, residence permit card, fishing license, hunting license or other permit/ID card, cheque, bill of exchange or other security, lottery ticket, betting slip, cadastral (survey) plan, drawing or a technical drawing.

Apostille

The apostille stamp is a simplified form of legalization of a public document. It does not confirm the accuracy of the contents of a document; however, it certifies the authenticity of the signature and the identity of the seal or stamp. It certifies that the person, who signed the public document, acted in his/her capacity and that the document has been issued by the competent state authority.

The apostille on the Czech Public Documents is issued by the following ministries in Czechia:

a) Ministry of Foreign Affairs

b) Ministry of Justice (for documents issued by judicial authorities and documents issued or certified by notaries)

Ověřování listin do ciziny - Ministerstvo spravedlnosti České republiky - Portál justice

You can submit the document, on which you require the apostille stamp, via our embassy.

An appointment is necessary for all of the above services. The office hours of the consular section of the Embassy for public are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 10 – 12 a.m. To make an appointment, contact our embassy by e-mail at oslo.consulate@mzv.gov.cz or by phone at  +47 2212 1036. Current fees for legalization can be found on our website here►.

Please note that legalization - higher authentication of Czech university diplomas and diploma supplements for use abroad is handled by the Office of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (Karmelitská 529/5, 118 12 Prague 1 – Malá Strana). Legalization is performed in the form of authentication of signatures and imprints of stamps on the above documents. After legalization is granted, documents proving higher education are submitted for higher authentication (apostille) to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Department of Consular Activities). For further information (in Czech) please see the website of the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports
