Jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court over the crime of aggression activated by consensus

 

At its final meeting the 16th Assembly of States Parties of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court adopted by consensus resolution on the activation of the jurisdiction of the Court over the crime of aggression. The Assembly decided to activate the Court’s jurisdiction as of 17 July 2018 to commemorate the date of 20th anniversary of adoption of the Rome Statute, the founding treaty of the Court.
