In the event of death of a Czech national abroad, the honorary consulate must immediately report the case to the supervising post and cooperate with it in arranging the repatriation of the remains or burial in the receiving State. The honorary consulate also assists in obtaining the death certificate and completing other formalities. Unless the deceased had arranged adequate insurance coverage, the cost of repatriation or burial is borne by the next of kin.
