New Czech Deputy Permanent Representative to the EU

Ambassador Jaroslav Zajíček has taken up the post of the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the European Union on 1 August 2016.
 

Ambassador Zajíček works as deputy to the head of the Czech Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels, Ambassador Martin Povejšil. He also represents the Czech Republic in COREPER I meetings of the Council of the European Union. With his counterparts from the other EU Member States, he deals with crucial issues of European policy and legislation in such areas as industry and the single market, energy, telecommunications, transport, agriculture, environment, social affairs, education and research and development.

Prior to this, Jaroslav Zajíček held the posts of the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Czech Embassy in Washington, D.C.  He also spent over six years in Brussels as Head of Ambassador’s Office, Member of Cabinet of the Czech Commissioner and Head of Sectorial Policies Section at the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU.
