World Intellectual Property Organization

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is a United Nations agency dedicated to developing a balanced intellectual property system that promotes innovation and protects the public interest. Within WIPO, Czechia defends the protection of intellectual property rights and opposes the loosening of rules that encourage innovative activities.

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations. It is entirely dedicated to developing a balanced and accessible intellectual property system that rewards creativity, encourages innovation and contributes to economic development, while protecting the public interest.

Within the organisation, Czechia advocates for the protection of intellectual property rights and opposes the loosening of a system of rules that already contains a number of often unused flexibilities. In fact, the protection of intellectual property rights promotes innovation by enabling creators to control their intellectual property and to monetize its exploitation.
