Ambassador Winkler had visited Cardiff again after a joint reception on 21 January co-hosted by Andy Klom, Head of the EC Office in Wales. This event had officially launched the Czech Republic´s EU Presidency in the Welsh capital. Mr Rhodri Morgan was the guest of honour at the reception. “I am convinced it is of a great importance to inform the Welsh Assembly about the Czech Republic´s EU priorities. The EU is not only about the capitals,” said Ambassador Winkler.

Cardiff is the first regional capital where the Czech Presidency was officially launched, soon followed by Edinburgh.
