In response to a statement by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation and a subsequent comment by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation and former President Dmitry Medvedev concerning several Czech companies identified as possible targets of Russian attacks, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister Petr Macinka decided to summon the Ambassador of the Russian Federation.
At 10 a.m. today, Ambassador Alexander Zmeyevsky was presented with a strong protest against such threats. Such rhetoric directed at the Czech Republic; Czech entities and our allies is entirely unacceptable.
It was also recalled that it is Russia’s war against Ukraine that has led to a serious deterioration of the security situation in Europe. All forms of assistance that the Czech Republic provides to Ukraine are firmly grounded in international law.
