Memorandum of Cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy and Instituto Camões

The Director of the Diplomatic Academy and Training Department of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Věra Jeřábková, and the Ambassador of the Portuguese Republic in Prague, H.E. Maria Manuela Ferreira Macedo Franco, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Diplomatic Academy and Training Department and Instituto Camões. Established by the government of Portugal, Instituto Camões promotes Portuguese language and culture through its centres worldwide. 
 

According to the Memorandum, Instituto Camões will organize language training courses and exams for employees of the Czech MFA. It will also supplement the library at the MFA in Prague with Portuguese textbooks and lusophone literature. Portuguese language courses were introduced at the Czech MFA in 2013. Portuguese language skills are a prerequisite for the posting of both diplomatic and administrative/technical staff at Czech diplomatic and consular missions in Portugal and Brazil.
