Visit of the Standing Senate Commission on Media in Finland

During 23 – 25 November 2015 the Standing Senate Commission on Media visited Finland. The delegation was led by Deputy Chairman of the Senate Mr Zdeněk Škromach, other members of the delegation were senators Mr Petr Bratský and Mr Petr Gawlas and secretary of the Commission Ms Kateřina Šarmanová. The main aim of the working visit was to learn about the issues of mass media in Finland.
During the visit the delegation met representatives of the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority (FICORA), Transport and Communications Committee of the Finnish Parliament, Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Council for Mass Media. On the second day of the working programme the delegation visited premises of the public broadcasting company YLE where the delegation met with YLE representatives including company´s CEO Mr Lauri Kivinen.
