Ambassador Jana Reinišová awarded the winners of the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2015

The International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice (ICEFA Lidice) was established in 1967 to commemorate the child victims from the Czech village of Lidice murdered by German Nazis, as well as all other children who have died in wars. Although national initially, this exhibition became an international one in 1973 and since then it has become well known among children and teachers not only in our country but literally all over the world. In later years, more than 20,000 very good works of art have come regularly by children not only from the Czech and Slovak republics but also from other 70 countries from all over the world.
ICEFA Lidice is a one round competition for children 4 to 16 years for all types of schools and organisations working with children - nursery schools, primary schools, primary art schools, special schools, leisure-time centres of children and youth, children’s houses, multi-year grammar schools and other secondary schools. Individuals can participate as well.
The expert panel of judges consisting of art teachers and visual artists selects circa 1,400 works for exhibition. The works are awarded Honourable Mentions and the best of them obtain “Rose of Lidice” medals. Three children from Groningen have been awarded this years´ Honourable Mention. Lori Anna, Paula Liina and Eifke received the diploma from Ambassador Jana Reinišová at her residence in The Hague. The theme of this years´ competition was “Light”.
