The Czech Republic Strengthens Cooperation with Kansas

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Jiří Brodský and David Müller, Director General of the European Union and Foreign Trade Section at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, signed a statement on mutual cooperation in Prague together with Kansas Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland. The statement fosters the comprehensive development of relations between their respective institutions and the State of Kansas.

The statement builds on the dynamic growth of bilateral relations and creates new opportunities for cooperation among Czech and Kansan entrepreneurs, scientists, artists, and representatives of businesses, universities, and other institutions. It also intends to strengthen ties between the citizens of the Czech Republic and Kansas and to support Czech cultural heritage in the state.

The development of relations with the United States, including cooperation with individual U.S. states, is a priority of Czech foreign policy. Kansas is an important partner due to its strong position in aerospace, agriculture, research, and innovation. The state is also home to several Czech investors and one of the largest Czech - American communities in the United States.

“Relations between the Czech Republic and Kansas have deepened significantly in recent years. The statement of cooperation expresses our shared determination to elevate this partnership to a higher level and I am very pleased that successful Czech companies are already operating in Kansas,” said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Jiří Brodský.

The statement provides a framework for further cooperation in trade and technology, and creative industries. It promotes activities in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, agricultural technologies, animal health, and nanotechnology.
