Amendment to the Act on the Residence of Foreign Nationals since July 1, 2023

The amendment to the Act on the Residence of Foreign Nationals in the Territory of the Czech Republic, which will come into force on July 1, 2023, effects several changes. The main changes for the applicants of the Cosulate General of the Czech Republic in Ebil are as follows:

 

I. Jurisdiction of the Consulate to lodge the visa application (§ 169g):

The applicant is entitled to submit an application only to the embassy of the State of which he or she is a citizen, or, where appropriate, in the State which issued the travel document of which he or she is the holder, or in the State in which he or she has been granted long-term or permanent residence and in which he or she has been lawfully residing continuously for at least 2 years.

 

II . Increase of the administrative fee for request for a review of short-term visa refusal:

The fee is increased from EUR 60 to EUR 80.

 

All the proceedings which had commenced before the Amendment of theAct on the Residence of Foreign Nationals in the Territory of the Czech Republic become effective (i.e. until and including June 30, 2023), will be completed in accordance with the previous wording of the Law.
