Animated short films by Jiří Trnka in Husets Biograf

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Czech puppet animator Jiří Trnka the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Copenhagen arranged an evening of animated short movies.
On 6 March 2012, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Copenhagen in cooperation with Husets Biograf arranged the screening of three animated short films by Jiří Trnka. The audience had a unique opportunity to see the fairy-tale The Devil´s Mill (1949), the futuristic vision of the world in The Cybernetic Grandma (1962) and an allegorical image in The Hand (1965), screened on a traditional film reel.
The Devil´s Mill
Ambassador Zdeněk Lyčka launched the film evening with a short recapitulation of the most important moments of the director´s life. After the screening the guests were invited to taste Czech beer.

The 100th anniversary of the birth of Czech designer and animated movie director Jiří Trnka is also commemorated by UNESCO.
