Two Czech representatives Tomáš Čáslavský and Kamila Bořutová will participate in 21st year of cross-country ski competition Arctic Circle Race 2017, which will take place in Greenland on 31 March – 2 April.
Both Czech representatives are taking part in the competition repeatedly. In 2015, Tomáš Čáslavský won the bronze medal, while Kamila Bořutová was golden in the women’s category and 6th in the overall race.
The competition is based in the city of Sisimiut since 1998 and there are more than 150 participants each year. The race is 160 kilometres long and is divided into three days and two nights, when the participants stay overnight in the mountains. Arctic Circle Race is considered to be the most difficult cross-country ski race in the world due to the high mountains in the area of Sisimiut and extreme weather conditions in Greenland.
