Travel advice for Lebanon

Based on the recent security devepolments the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic informs Czech citizens to avoid all non-essential travels. For the south Lebanon, southern suburbs of Beirut, borders with Syria and Bekaa valley the Ministry of Foreign Affairs therefore warns citizens against all travels. We recommend following the local media and respecting the instructions of the security forces.

The security situation can quickly deteriorate. Do not travel to south of Lebanon, southern suburbs of Beirut, Bekka valley, north of the country and the border areas as mention in the map.

If you are already in the country, be cautious, exercise extreme caution, avoid places of demonstrations or large concentrations of people, and leave Lebanon as soon as possible. It is essential to follow the instructions of the local security forces and monitor the current development of the situation online. 

In case of emergency, you can contact the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beirut, during working hours on the standard telephone contacts of the office and outside of working hours on its consular emergency line: + 420 222 420 222.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic strongly recommends registration in the DROZD database.
