Issuing visa in cases of suspended procedures and related changes in insurance over 90 days

In conformity with the current restrictions against the Covid19 pandemic valid from the 30th of September 2021, the Czech Embassy in Ulaanbaatar is informing all applicants whose long-term visa/long-term/permanent residence cards have been approved but their visa could not be issued, that they may obtain their visa under certain conditions specified below:

  • Applicants, whose employee cards have been approved (outside the government economic migration program “režim Mongolsko”) should submit new “Undertakings of a subject accepting a foreign national on the territory of the Czech Republic for the purposes of economic activity or educational activities” according to Article I.17 and I.18 of the valid protective measures (a scan is sufficient), including corresponding insurance*;
  • Applicants, whose long-term visa applications for the purpose of “other” (language courses) have been approved should submit evidence that their course will take place in the academic year 2021/2022, including new Undertakings of a subject accepting a foreign national on the territory of the Czech Republic for the purposes of economic activity or educational activities” according to Article I.17 and I.18 of the valid protective measures (a scan is sufficient) and corresponding insurance*;
  • Applicants, whose long-term visa applications for the purpose of family reunification have been approved should submit corresponding insurance*;
  • Applicants, whose long-term visa applications for the purpose of business have been approved should submit corresponding insurance*.

*Insurance – important!: Applicants who submitted their applications for long-term visa/long-term or permanent residence before (and including) the 1st of August 2021 can enter the territory of the Czech Republic with general emergency healthcare insurance (for the Czech Republic) from other insurance company than the Insurance company of VZP (Pojišťovna Všeobecné zdravotní pojišťovny). This insurance policy must be submitted to the Czech Consulate before issuing of the visa. The applicant is then obliged to subscribe “complex healthcare” insurance from the Insurance company of VZP (Pojišťovna Všeobecné zdravotní pojišťovny) within 90 days from entering the territory of the Czech Republic.

Applicants who submitted their applications for long-term visa/long-term or permanent residence the 2nd of August 2021 and later must submit the following insurance policy to the Czech Consulate before issuing of the visa – either:

  • general emergency healthcare&travel insurance (for the Czech Republic) from other insurance company than the Insurance company of VZP (Pojišťovna Všeobecné zdravotní pojišťovny) for the first 90 days (such insurance company must have the authorisation for insurance according to Article 180j paragraph 2 of the Act on the residence of foreigners) bearing in mind that they must obtain “complex healthcare” insurance from the Insurance company of VZP (Pojišťovna Všeobecné zdravotní pojišťovny) for the remaining period of their presence on the Czech territory;
  • or, they must submit “complex healthcare” insurance from the Insurance company of VZP (Pojišťovna Všeobecné zdravotní pojišťovny) already for the whole period of their presence on the Czech territory. Complex healthcare insurance policy from a different insurance entity (other than the Insurance company of VZP (Pojišťovna Všeobecné zdravotní pojišťovny) can be submitted to the consulyte only in case it has been concluded before the 1st of August 2021 (or on the 1st of August 2021 at the latest).
