The Czech Republic is ending its successful six-month presidency of the Council of the European Union, which has been one of the most complex so far. In particular, the country had to face the consequences of the Russian aggression in Ukraine.
We responded with a number of measures, such as a military assistance mission to provide training to the Ukrainian army. It was possible to reach an agreement on sanctions against Russia and the suspension of the visa agreement. We solved the energy crisis by agreeing to reduce gas and electricity consumption in the EU, and increased the volume of the reserve and strengthened supplies from other suppliers. We were looking for common and unified solutions, which we managed to achieve. These conclusions were presented by the Czech ambassador Jan Vytopil, to his colleagues and distinguished guests as part of an informal jazz evening associated with an exhibition of photographs from the Velvet Revolution of 1989, held at the Fat Cat Jazz Club in Ulaanbaatar.
"The fact that the ambassadors of practically all friendly countries represented in Mongolia, including the heads of international organizations, found time in their busy schedules, I see as a thank you not only for our presidency, but also for the many years of our efforts committed and works done here," Jan Vytopil commented on the successful evening.
