Schengen visa application

The application of Schengen visa has to be submitted in person by the applicant. The applicant has to ask for the appointment by sending the e-mail to the address tunis.consulate@mzv.gov.cz.
Schengen visa applications can be submitted 6 months at earliest and 15 days at latest prior to the trip.
The will be processed in 15 days. This period can be extended up to 45 days in case the further investigation has to be done.
The following documents have to be submitted when applying for Schengen visa:
1. application form signed by the applicant
2. travel document - expiry date of the passport must exceed at least by 3 months from the date of departure from the Schengen area; the passport has to fulfill the following conditions
3. one photograph 3,5 cm x 4,5 cm - the photograph has to fulfill the following conditions
4. document stating the purpose of the stay - official invitation verified by the Alien Police Service, invitation letter, travel agency documents, organized trip reservation, itinerary, health/medical facility confirmation, employment confirmation, invitation/tickets for a congress, expo, seminar, business relations confirmation, invitation/application for participation in consultations, conference, seminar etc.
5. proof of accommodation - the document has to fulfill the following conditions
6. return air-ticket reservation or proof of any other means of transport
7. proof of sufficient financial means for the stay in Schengen Area (for example bank account statement for last 3 months, international bank card etc.) - the document has to fulfill the following conditions
8. travel medical insurance - The insurance must be valid throughout the territory of the Member States and cover the entire period of the person´s intended stay or transit. The minimum coverage is EUR 30 000.
The applicant has to submit the following documents:
employees
- certificate of employment or recent employment contract
- pay slips for last three months
- certificate of affiliation to the national social security scheme (CNSS)
- holiday leave / duty travel authorisation from an employer
company owners or self-employed persons
- copy of the commercial registry
- tax card
students
- school attendance certificate or student card
- evidence of the parents´social or employment status
pensioners
- proof of receipt of a retirement pension
farmers
- proof of status - farmer´s card
- most recent declaration of annual income or title of property
minors (until the age of 18)
- written consent of both parents / legal guardians if the minor travels alone or only with one parent
- one parent consent is sufficient only in case the single parent holds the sole custody
The list of supporting documents lodged by the visa applicants in Tunisia is harmonized by the Member States of Schengen Area.
The Embassy can request for more documents in order to process the visa application.
The visa fee is 90 EUR and it is paid in TND according to the valid exchange rate. The fee can be paid in cash or by card (international debit or credit card for example VISA, MasterCard etc.)
Ten flat fingerprints of every applicant are digitally scanned. Only children younger than twelve years are exempted.
