Consular Fees

The exact amount for each fee is determined by Czech law (No. 634/2004 Coll.) and is thus non-negotiable. The equivalent amount in Canadian dollars for any given month is set on the first day of each month, based on official rates of exchange. Please consult p. 2 of the attached schedule of fees for current amounts.
When you are not present at the Consulate General, the consular fees are paid with a debit/credit card, via a Czech payment gateway. Double check your e-mail address when you provide it to us as we will send you an e-mail with a link for the online payment. The link is valid for 7 days.
During your in-person visit at the Consulate General, we collect the consular fees:
- in cash in Canadian dollars, exact change is appreciated; or
- with a debit/credit card.
An important note on debit/credit card payments
All consular fees collected by card are charged in Czech koruna, CZK (or for certain visa types in euro, EUR). The fees do not include any foreign exchange fees or commissions. We accept cards issued by Mastercard and VISA (including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Garmin Pay and Xiaomi Pay); our system does not support American Express cards.
