Czech technology mission visited Japan

Czech technology mission, focused on optics, photonics, optometry and laser technology visited Japan in May 2018. The mission was organized by the CzechInvest Agency and the Embassy of the Czech Republic. Its program included presentations of possibilities of cooperation on research and industrial projects directly at the headquarters of leading Japanese companies focused mainly on the production of instrumentation and electronics, visits to academic and research centers and two seminars with detailed presentations of Czech companies and technologies in this high-tech area.
 

The head of the technology mission was doc. Jiri Krechl, head of the CzechInvest Research, Development and Innovation Support Division, and its members were leaders of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, the Institute of Physics of Charles University, the Czech Optical Cluster, the HiLASE Center and the leading Czech companies of this field Meopta and CRYTUR.

The week-long program of the technology mission included visits to five Japanese cities (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hamamatsu and Hitachi) and presentatiosn of possibilities of cooperation on research and industrial projects at the headquarters of leading Japanese companies in this field (Horiba, Panasonic, Shimadzu, Hamamatsu Photonics, JEOL and Hitachi High-Tech).

In addition, visits to academic and research institutions (Osaka University, Industrial Research Institute of Shizuoka and the Graduate School for the Creation of New Photonics Industries) and two presentation seminars (at the Kyoto Research Park and at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tokyo) were held as well. Both these seminars were well attended by local experts and highly rated by all participants.
