The annual charity garden party of the International Women’s Club Stockholm (IWC) took place at the residence of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic on May 16.
Almost 100 guests including the commissioner of the Stockholm County for children and seniors Ella Bohlin attended. MUDr. Lucie Hrdličková, founder of the charity Můj nový život (My New Life) and physician from the Department of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology of the Motol University Hospital arrived from Prague at the invitation of the IWC and the Czech Embassy.
The IWC collected 71.000 SEK to the benefit of Můj nový život. The amount makes it possible for a group of cca 40 post-cancer treatment children and their families to visit Playmobil Funpark in Germany during this summer.
The Czech illustrator and digital artist Eliška Podzimková donated one of her most known works - “Riverside”. During the event, a miniature version of the photography exhibition “My New Life” by the fine art photographer Kamila Berndorffová was displayed. The images show confident and strong young cancer survivors.
Five Czech and Swedish companies supported the event: Eva’s Bakery Stockholm donated desserts for the entire party. Botanicus cosmetics were offered as gifts and prizes. E-tents.online from Czech Republic and their Swedish partner Evexxum AB provided four foldable tents of high quality, manufactured by Existents s.r.o., Brno. As a special supporter, Škoda Sverige donated 30.000 SEK announced during the garden party. Škoda was represented by Damir Knezovic, sales manager and Johan Gehlin, diplomatic sales representative.
