On Sunday, May 21, 2017, during the last spring show of the Kavallerikasern stables (formerly K1), riding stables and horses, visitors could meet the Old Kladruby stallion named Generalissimus Amalthea XLI - 22, shortly called Daněk, for the first time. Daněk is the most recent addition to the Swedish Royal Mounted Guards.
Both Mr. Jiří Šitler, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic and Bo Rasmussen, who sponsored the purchase attended the introduction of Daněk to the public.
The National Stud at Kladruby nad Labem is one of the oldest studs in the world and home to the oldest original Czech horse breed: the Old Kladruber horse. Approximately 300 Starokladruby horses are kept in the stud. It is a warm-blooded horse’s breed originally from Old Spanish and Old Italian blood.
