About the film
Plot Summary: In 1937, the director of a large factory arrives in the town of Svit beneath the Tatra Mountains with his wife, aiming to build a modern industrial city inspired by Baťa’s Zlín. The case exceeds the capabilities of the local police, is classified as top secret, and the secret police are dispatched. The story also explores themes of otherness and exclusion, as the director’s wife, Helena Hauptová, finds herself isolated as a woman in a male-dominated environment. She faces unexpected obstacles, including her own prejudices… (Bontonfilm)
