Short-Term Business Travel
Information for Citizens of the Republic of Korea Regarding Visa Requirements for Short-Term Business Travel to the Czech Republic
Citizens of the Republic of Korea are listed in Annex II of Council Regulation (EC) No. 539/2001, and therefore do not require a visa for short-term stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period, provided the purpose of their stay does not constitute gainful employment.
According to § 4 of Government Regulation No. 215/2017 Coll., the following activities are NOT considered gainful employment.
§ 4(2) – Exceptions from Visa Requirement:
a) Performing artists, teaching staff, academic staff of universities, scientific, research or development workers attending a scientific meeting, pupils or students under 26 years of age, athletes, or persons who deliver goods or services in the Czech Republic, or who install goods or perform warranty or repair work based on a commercial contract;
→ This activity must not exceed 7 consecutive calendar days or a total of 30 days in a calendar year.
b) Members of rescue units providing assistance under an international agreement on mutual aid in disaster relief or in cases of humanitarian aid.
c) Employees in international transport, if sent to work in the Czech Republic by their foreign employer.
d) Persons accredited in the field of media.
e) Military or civilian personnel of the armed forces of the sending state.
f) Clergy of a church or religious society registered in the Czech Republic.
g) Foreign nationals sent by their foreign employer under a contract with a Czech legal or natural person, exclusively for the purpose of enhancing skills and qualifications needed for work with the foreign employer outside the territory of the Czech Republic.
h) Persons traveling exclusively for the purpose of business negotiations in the Czech Republic.
The limitation of maximum 7 consecutive calendar days or a total of 30 days in a calendar year applies only to activities listed under point a). For all other exceptions (points b–h), this time restriction does not apply, provided the total stay does not exceed 90 days within any 180-day period.
