LOCAL CONSULAR JURISDICTION

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Seoul accepts Schengen visa and long-term visa/residence applications submitted by:

  • Citizens of the Republic of Korea
  • Long-term/permanent residents of the Republic of Korea

Applicants who are residents in Korea but not Korean citizens may apply for a long-term visa/residence permit at the Embassy only if they have lived in Korea for at least 2 years.

For Schengen visa applications, applicants must have lived in Korea for at least 1 year. When making an appointment, send a copy of your residence permit. If you do not meet this requirement, submit the application in your home country.

A harmonized list of supporting documents applies to Schengen visa applications lodged in the Republic of Korea.

The consulate usually responds to specific e-mail inquiries within 5 days.

The consulate does not provide information on visa application processing during the statutory time limit. Once a decision is made, the applicant will be contacted. The status of a long-term visa/residence permit application can be checked here.

The consulate does not use social media for visa-related communication.

FEES

Fees for visa/residence applications are paid at submission by payment card in Czech crowns (CZK) or euros (EUR).

LANGUAGE OF PROCEEDINGS

The languages used in visa procedures at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Seoul are Czech and English.

If the applicant does not speak either language, it is their responsibility to provide and cover the cost of an interpreter for long-term visa/residence proceedings. Interviews are always conducted in Czech; applicants who do not speak Czech must arrange an interpreter at their own expense.
