The ceremony took place in the presence of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Latvia Jana Hynková, the First Ambassadorial Secretary Marta Hušková, the military attaché in the Baltics Colonel Romana Pešatová, her successor Lieutenant Colonel Jaroslav Vörös, the Chief of Staff of the Latvian Mechanised Brigade Lieutenant Colonel Igors Harlapenkovs and other guests. In his speech, the Commander of the 6th TF, Lieutenant Commander Martin Dřímalka, summarized the achievements of the 6th Task Force and thanked his soldiers for the work they had done and the foreign partners for their excellent cooperation. Finally, he wished good luck to the 7th Task Force under the command of Captain Josef Kurfiřt. Lieutenant Colonel Harlapenkovs thanked the Czech contingent for its contribution to the protection of Latvia and emphasised the positive effects of cooperation in the international environment. During the ceremony, five Czech soldiers were awarded for their outstanding performance, two of them even with the Latvian Medal of Merit – 2nd and 3rd degree.

The Czech Army units operate in the Baltic States within the framework of the Alliance's Enhanced Forward Presence (eFP). The specific military contribution of the Member States is a confirmation of the national commitment resulting from the NATO collective defence principle.

With the arrival of 7th Task Force, the Czech contingent is undergoing a fundamental change in its focus after six rotations. The Embassy of the Czech Republic thanks the previous six rotations for representing the Czech Republic in Latvia and in the international mission. The performance of Czech soldiers in Latvia and in the NATO eFP is perceived extremely positively.
