The Ambassador of the Czech Republic visited Ventspils

On October 4, 2018 Miroslav Kosek, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Latvia, made his regional visit to Ventspils in the Kurzeme region.
The Ambassador, while making his contribution to the Czech - Latvian cultural relations, attended the conference "The Parallels of Ventspils VII. Venstpils for 100 Years of Latvia“ organized by the Venstspils University. The conference was held in the city library Pārventas.
The conference was followed by informal talks and mutual discussions with representatives of the Ventspils Municipal Authority – the head of the tourist information center Mrs. Karīna Krivade and Deputy Head of the General Department for External Relations Mr. Didzis Štelbaums. Both sides discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of recreational and active tourism and possible cooperation of the towns.
The Head of Czech Embassy also met with the deputy head of the Ventspils Free Port Administration Mr. Igors Udodovs.
After the official part of the program, the visit to the city's music school and concert hall, accompanied by the chief architect of Ventspils Mrs. Daiga Dzedone, followed.
The afternoon part of the program was dedicated to the visit to the University of Venstspils and a meeting with Rector of the University Mr. Kārlis Krēsliņš. Both sides discussed the possibilities of future cooperation in the areas of education (exchange of students) and culture.
