
Czechia at the Geneva Cyber Week

Cyber Week took place in Geneva from 12-16 May, focusing on international cooperation in cybersecurity, cybercrime and capacity building. Czechia was represented by Václav Bálek, Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic, Marta Pelechová, expert on cyber affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Bohdan Malaniuk, representative of the the National Cyber and Information Security Agency.
Cyber Week was jointly organised by the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), the Global Forum on Cyber Expertise (GFCE) and the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Czechia was represented by an MFA representative for cyber affairs M. Pelechová, as well as the representative of the National Cyber and Information Security Agency B. Malaniuk.
The Czech Permanent Representative V. Bálek participated in the final high-level evaluation panel together with representatives from the USA, Nauru, the Organization of American States and an intergovernmental organization for the digitization of Africa “Smart Africa”. During the week, a number of expert debates were held where Czechia shared its experience in dealing with cyber incidents and attacks. Czechia also presented its capacity building programme titled CyberVac.
