Czech Diplomacy and Geneva Digital Week

As part of Geneva Digital Week (6–10 July), three parallel United Nations events on artificial intelligence (AI) took place. Ms. M. Chatardová, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, represented Czech diplomacy at these events.

Deputy Minister M. Chatardová delivered speeches at two of these events, namely the inaugural Global Dialogue on AI and the World Summit on the Information Society Forum (WSIS Forum). On the sidelines of the meetings, she held discussions with A. Baerbock, President of the United Nations General Assembly and former Foreign Minister of Germany, as well as with T. Lamanauskas, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). In her interventions, Deputy Minister Chatardová outlined both the European and Czech perspectives on the current development of AI. She highlighted the achievements of Czech research, investment opportunities, and the need for high-quality international standardization. Within the framework of the Global Dialogue, she also emphasized the work of the UN International Scientific Panel on AI, with particular focus on its advisory role.
