Research (long-term)
Long-term residence permit for the purpose of scientific research is intended for foreigners who have concluded a hosting agreement with a research institution and will carry out scientific research in the Czech Republic for a period longer than three months.
Long-term scientific research application requirements:
o travel document
o 2 photos; Photo size should be 3.5 x 4.5 cm, with a light-colored background.
o biometric features – fingerprints
o fee
o supporting documents
- hosting agreement
- written obligation of the research institution that it will cover potential expenses connected with the stay of the scientific researcher on the territory of the Czech Republic after the expiration of the residence permit, incl. expenses connected with the departure from the Czech Republic, if they were accrued within six months after the hosting agreement expiration and were covered from public funds
o Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila, in accordance with § 31 par. a) of Act No. 326/1999 Coll., on the Residence of Foreigners in the Czech Republic, requires all long-term visa and long-term residence permit applicants, to present authenticated document, similar to an extract from Penal Register issued by the state of residence - Filipino NBI criminal. The applicant is obligated to present similar document from any other country in which he/she resided more than 6 months in last 3 years. In the event that such a state does not issue such document affidavit needs to be presented. Filipino NBI criminal record must be authenticate with apostille and translated into Czech language. The police clearance from any other foreign country must be authenticated with apostille or superlegalization. The requirement shall not be older than 180 days.

If you are to make research in the Czech Republic, request an appointment by writing an e-mail to: manila.visa@mzv.gov.cz, stating your name and attach a confirmation from the research program that you were accepted. The Embassy will provide you an appointment at its earliest convenience. Applicants will be accommodated on first come first served basis.
