On December 13, 2023, the Czech government approved the so-called Pilot Project. Its goal, analogous to the government's economic migration programs, is to guarantee foreigners the possibility of applying for a residence permit at the relevant embassy in order to complete flight training in the Czech Republic.
This is training for a commercial pilot CPL(A) or transport pilot ATPL(A). The instructor is always a Czech entity that holds an ATO (Approved Training Organization) Certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Czech Republic and is authorized to provide theoretical and practical training for obtaining the given types of licenses. A foreigner included in the Pilot Project remains a participant in flight training for the entire time and does not enter into an employment relationship in the Czech Republic.
This project is also aimed at applicants from the Philippines. The project manager is the Ministry of Industry and Trade - MPO/Czechtrade, co-managers are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the MD. The annual capacity of the Project is 200 applications. This applies to all countries included in the Project - Armenia, Azerbaijan, China, Philippines, Ghana, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Malaysia, Maldives, Nigeria, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Vietnam.
Applicants included in the Pilot Project apply for a visa for a stay of more than 90 days for other purposes.
