
The Justice Ministers Conference on support to the investigation into the situation in Ukraine

Deputy Minister of Justice Karel Dvořák announced at a conference in London the Czech contribution to support the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague. There will be up to 15 forensic experts from the Ministry of Defense and two forensic experts from the Police of the Czech Republic. Czechia has been supporting the International Criminal Court for a long time, since the beginning of Russian aggression in Ukraine. We have been trying to deliver all available assistance and meet Ukrainian needs, Mr Karel Dvořák emphasized.
The Justice Ministers Conference took place at Lancaster House on March 20, 2023. Ministers from over than forty nations pledged to provide practical and financial support to ICC to its independent investigations into war crimes in Ukraine. Among discussed topics was also the establishment of an international special tribunal for the crime of aggression. The Conference co-hosted by Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab and Minister of Justice and Security Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius from the Netherlands. Minister of Justice Denys Maliuska and Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin took part in the event on behalf of the Ukrainian side.
Deputy Minister Karel Dvořák met with Ambassador Maria Chatardová in London. Both discussed the outcomes of the Justice Ministers Conference and the main priorities of both governments in terms of justice and home affairs, including the topic of combating domestic and sexualized violence.
