Venus of Dolní Věstonice shining in London

The 29,000-year-old ceramic sculpture of a voluptuous Czech lady known to the world as the Venus of Dolni Vestonice is one of the main attractions of the stunning show of art from the Ice Age in the British Museum. Ambassador Michael Žantovský was among guests of honour at the opening of the exhibition. In his speech, museum director Neil MacGregor thanked the Czech ambassador for his personal involvement in securing the loan of the exhibits from the Czech Republic which are the highlight of the exhibition
