Screening of "The Ballad of Piargy" to commemorate the death of writer František Švantner

On 13 October 2023, a screening of Czech-Slovak co-production film 'The Balad of Piargy' was held at the Czech Embassy to commemorate the death of Slovak writer František Švantner.
František Švantner was inspired by folk ballads and the realities of the Slovak countryside, balancing between fantasy, irrationality and reality.
The screening was organized by the Slovak Embassy in the UK and the Embassy of the Czech Republic, London in cooperation with the Czech Center London on the occasion of 30th anniversary of the establishments of independent Republics.
The event was officially opened by the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the UK, Róbert Ondrejcsák, and the Deputy Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the UK, Michal Strouhal.
