Informal Meeting of Ministers for Justice and Home Affairs (Helsinki, 18-19 July 2019)

Ministers of Justice and Home Affairs of the EU Member States met in Helsinki on 18 and 19 July 2019.
The first day of the gathering was devoted to the interior issues, and Czechia was represented by Deputy Minister of the Interior Jakub Kulhánek. In the discussion, ministers addressed
the following topics: the future of internal security with an ecological emphasis, the future of migration policy, artificial intelligence and hybrid threats.
During the second day there were discussed the justice issues, and Marie Benešová, Minister of Justice led the Czech delegation. Three areas dominated the discussion: current aspects of the application of the rule of law, use of alternative penalties and mutual judicial cooperation in civil matters.
