Exhibition of illustrations of Lucie Dvořáková and workshop for children

On 23 April 2015 an exhibition of illustrations of Lucie Dvořáková was opened in Rikhadinkatu Library in Helsinki and it was followed by workshop for children. The exhibition was opened by Consul Dana Knapíková, Director of the library Heli Roisko and illustrator Lucie Dvořáková.

 

The exhibition in the department of children´s literature will be open till 10 May 2015.

Lucie Dvořáková

She studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague at the department of Film and Television Graphics. She has illustrated numerous books of fairy tales, poetry and picture books for children, as well as children's magazines. She has also designed several animated movies for children. She has been cooperating with following Czech publishing houses: Albatros, Brio, Knižní klub, Mladá Fronta and Meander.

Her works have been exhibited in Czechia, Japan, Italy, South Korea, Taiwan and she took part in the Bratislava Biennial in Slovakia, the Biennial of Illustration Croatia and the International Show of Illustration for Children Le Immagini Della Fantasia in Italy. Four of the books she illustrated were awarded the Golden Ribbon Award - in 1995, 1996, 2003, 2007, while the book of Ancient Greek Myths and Legends was awarded the annual award of the Albatros Publishing House in 2000. For the Tales of the Middle Ages she received the Prix at the Namibook International Illustration Competition in South Korea in 2013.
