On June 12-16, 2023, our embassy, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic, Czech Wine Producers Association and Czech Tourism, organized an incoming mission of Irish business and media representatives to the wine region of South Moravia.
The aim was to present the Czech Republic as an important producer of quality wine with a centuries-long tradition and the South Moravian region as an ideal destination for wine tourism. he project built on the previous successful presentation of Moravian wines in Dublin in May 2022.
The Irish delegation visited seven smaller family-owned and larger wineries, which also participated in the previous project. The experts appreciated not only the quality of the wines, but also the overall level of the wine industry in the Czech Republic. Participants had the opportunity to see the vineyards and taste a large number of samples, including non-traditional apricot wine. Interest in organic production is currently growing in Ireland, which is why, according to the mission participants, an export future is expected for organic wines. Information about the mission and wine production in the Czech Republic will be published in Irish printed press and online.
