Trade fairs and exhibitions have a long tradition in the Czech Republic and the country hosts many specialised international fairs. At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, modern and functional exhibition grounds of significant architectural value were built.

Many different trade fairs, together with industrial and sales exhibitions, are currently held in the Czech Republic. The majority of these fairs have international participation and some are the most prestigious of their kind to be held in Central and Eastern Europe. More than 60% of trade fairs in the Czech Republic are held at the Brno Trade Fair.
