Czech Republic:
Have you ever heard of cycle-ball? It´s a sport similar to football, except instead of running, you cycle. There are two teams, two players each and the ball  is not allowed to touch the ground. The most successful cycle-ball team of all time are the Czech brothers Jan and Jindřich Pospíšil, who won the title of world champions 20 times between the years 1965 - 1988, which is a unique and absolute record!
 
Hungary:
Tour de France,  Giro d’Italia, Vuelta a España - sound familiar, right? Have you ever heard of Tour de Hongrie? It is Hungary’s very own road bicycle stage race, organized since 1925 (10 years before the first Vuelta a España we might add) , although with a nearly 30 year hiatus between 1964 and 1992. The participants in 2021 face 792 kilometers, with 7954 meters of elevation, and they will race on the highest peak of Hungary (Kékestető), and by Lake Balaton, the „Hungarian Sea.”
 
Poland:
Did you know that two-times Nobel Prize Laureate from Poland Maria Skłodkowska-Curie was a big fun of the bicycles, which was gaining popularity at her times? She liked to the two-wheeler so much that in 1895 she went on a honeymoon on a bicycle travel around Île-de-France. By the way, this year we commemorate the 110th anniversary of receiving a Nobel Prize in Chemistry by M. Skłodowska-Curie for discovering  of the elements polonium and radium. Big thing!

V4 in Denmark celebrates the #WorldBicycleDay

Slovakia:
Did you know that  Slovak professional road bicycle racer Peter Sagan arrived at the age of 18 at the Slovak cup ready to compete with his sister’s supermarket bike? He’d just sold his bike a few days before and hadn’t received a replacement from his sponsor. He won the race despite riding with poor brakes and limited gearing. Today Sagan is considered one of cycling's greatest talents, having earned many prestigious victories, including three consecutive World Championships, one European Championship, two Paris–Nice stages, seven Tirreno–Adriatico stages, one in the Tour de Romandie or one in Paris-Roubaix, among others.
 
Denmark:
Have you ever wondered why Denmark has such an amazing cycling culture that it is even said that the bike is a Dane's best friend?  With more than 12,000 km of cycle tracks and lanes throughout the country, obvious benefits for environment and personal health there is no wonder that 9 out of 10 Danes own the bike. Some even more than one!
