Meeting with the management of NKT Cables A/S

On Tuesday 21 March 2017, the Czech Ambassador to Denmark Jiří Brodský visited the headquarters of the company NKT Cables A/S in the city of Asnæs. The company is a global front-line supplier to the energy sector. NKT Cables A/S focuses on development, manufacturing and marketing of high quality cables, accessories and solutions for electrical infrastructure, the construction field and for the railway and automotive industries. Apart from Denmark, production plants of the company are located in Germany, Sweden, Norway, Poland and the Czech Republic.
The Ambassador discussed with the company management, primarily about the activities in the Czech Republic, future plans, as well as the possibility of further expansion of investments. He also visited company's production facility in Asnæs that focuses on production of building wires, 1 kV and medium voltage cables up to 72 kV (local media reported about the visit).
NKT Cables A/S operates in the Czech Republic since 2004. Production plant in Kladno was founded in 1865 and it is one of the oldest cable production plants in Europe. Today, this plant is modernized, making it one of the most high-tech plants in the industry. Its main products are low voltage cables up to 1 kV and low fire-hazard cables. Second production plant in Velké Meziříčí specializes in manufacturing medium voltage cables up to 50 kV to the highest industry standards. The last production site located in Vrchlabí focuses on the two main product lines – automotive cables and flexible cables.
