Working visit by the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs

On 18 – 22 April 2016 a delegation of the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic led by the Chairman Miroslav Antl paid a working visit to Denmark.

Programme of the visit included consultations with the partner committee in the Danish Folketing, but also meetings with the representatives of Danish Ministry of Justice, Danish National Police, the Supreme Court, the Danish Prison and Probation Service, the Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman or the Danish Prosecution Service. The delegation also visited the Faculty of Law of the Copenhagen University and Hillerød Municipality.

The Czech senators used the occasion to consult their Danish counterparts on the particular issues relating to the functioning of the parliaments of both countries, specific activities of the committees, the legislative process, issues of constitutional, criminal and civil law, negotiation procedure etc. At the same time, they got acquainted with the activities of courts, prosecution and police and discussed the possibilities of cooperation and mutual exchange of information in criminal proceedings.
