“Václav Havel: president, dissident, citizen“ in Aarhus

On 3 – 6 October 2016, a culture programme dedicated to Václav Havel, which had been prepared in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Copenhagen, took place in Aarhus’ library Dokk1. It belonged to a series of culture events planned for autumn 2016 on the occasion of 80th birth anniversary of Václav Havel.

The event began on Monday 3 October with the lecture of Peter Bugge, bohemist from Aarhus University, who also translated several Havel's literary works into Danish language. Afterwards, the evening continued with a screening of documentary film Václav Havel – A Life in Freedom. On Wednesday 5 October, the programme continued with the screening of film Citizen Havel by director Pavel Koutecký. The event was closed on Thursday 6 October with the documentary Olga dedicated to the life of Havel's first wife Olga.
