The International Day of Francophonie in Copenhagen

A celebration of the International Day of Francophonie in Denmark on the 20th March 2013.
Since 1990 people all around the world speaking French have been celebrating 20 March as the International Day of Francophonie. This day commemorates the foundation of the Agence de coopération culturelle et technique (ACCT), a predecessor of today´s International Organization of the Francophonie, signed in the Nigerian capital Niamey in 1970. It´s a day devoted to French language which connects 200 million people on all continents united in the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF). It gives an opportunity to all citizens of the francophonian world to express mutual solidarity in spite of their difference and diversity. OIF has 57 members and 20 observers. The Czech Republic became an observer country in Canadian Moncton in 1999.
The celebration of the International Day of Francophonie in Denmark took place for the first time at Copenhagen Business School.

The Czech Embassy also contributed to the celebration by offering the conference participants a taste of Czech beer Pilsner and renowned Carlsbad spa wafers.
