The exhibition opening
The exhibition of illustrations by Martin Velíšek was presented for the first time in September 2008 in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, as part of the project Czech days in Greenland. Afterwards the exhibition travelled around Greenland (Qaqortoq, Maniitsoq, Sisimiut and Ilulissat). In April 2009 the inhabitants of the West-Greenlandic town Maniitsoq had an opportunity to meet Martin Velíšek personally and hear a lecture which he prepared together with Czech Ambassador Zdeněk Lyčka. In 2010 the exhibition was shown in Knud Rasmussen’s House in Hundested, in 2011 at the museum in Skive, in the spring of 2012 on the Faroe Islands and in the summer of 2012 in the Greenlandic House in Copenhagen. Afterwards the exhibition continued its journey to Odense where it was shown from November 2012 until January 2013. After Aalborg it will be welcomed in the alternative Copenhagen quarter of Christiania (April 2013).
